Over the banks I feel you like roses Deep in my heart I feel you like sunshine And I've opened up my heart to you I've opened up my heart to you Over the hills I see you like a new world Inside Bursting to be free And I've opened up my heart to you I've opened up my heart to you And I've opened up my heart to you I've opened up my heart to you Where you are You have everything you need You are The bright lights in this city And I've opened up my heart to you I've opened up my heart to you Away in my heart I'll be Away in my heart I'll be Away in my heart I'll be

Jack was a lad from London Town He made his living working under ground Nobody heard him make a sound When the walls came a tumbling down Jill came a rushing down the hill Carrying a bucket of the government's spill Hardly enough to pay the bills and the walls came a tumbling down Away, sending us away But we won't go away We're the heart of this town The jewels in the crown Little Johnny kept his finger in the pie He grew his hedge But it grew too high Blocked out everybody elses light And the walls came a tumbling down There's a crook on the Old Kent Road He asks 'Should we stay? or Should we go?' He profits from our fear The seeds he sews And the walls came a tumbling down Away, sending us away We won't go away We're the heart of this town The jewels in the crown Away sending us away We won't go away We're the heart of this town The jewels in the crown Take it back Take it back Put it on the right track Sick of the news Sick of the news Inequality blues Take it back Take it back Put it on the right track Sick of the news Sick of the news Inequality blues Don't care if it looks good Or tastes a little sweeter I just care about love Going a little deeper Than the surface Away, sending us away We won't go away We're the heart of this town The jewels in the crown Away, sending us away We won't go away We're the heart of this town The jewels in the crown

You're on top of the mountain ridge A caterpillar on the edge of a leaf You're walking on air But it never gives You're a rambling rose I see you now looking down Hit your foot it makes a hollow sound You see the stars hidden underground You're a rambling rose I see you looking under every stone Find the treasure that no-one knows You want to tell the world everywhere is home You're a rambling rose Trace your hand on the sandstone wall Make your pillow an ice waterfall You dream about the echoes of a time before You're a rambling rose Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah You're a rambling rose Make a den under table legs On the roof top, rocky ledge You want to be held like a baby to breast You're a rambling rose Each string is attached to the sun Word placed like a foot on the rung You want to share the music of those unsung You're a rambling rose Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah You're a rambling rose Some take solace in the silver rail Stick to the map, stick to the trail But some like you go beyond the pale You're a rambling rose Like the swallows on telegraph lines Your bags are packed and you know this time You're gonna show the world we can really fly You're a rambling rose Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah You're a rambling rose La, la, la, la La, la, la, la la, la, la La, la, la, la la, la, la, la, la, la

Over Over the sea You might find me You might find me Over Over the sea I might find you I might find you Standing on the rooftops counting stars The dreams you had carried you this far Diamonds on the shore Like dew in the grass Each one holds the sun Holds the sun The first steps you take are on concrete Inside you carry the sea Little princes Coming back, coming back, coming back home Little princes Bring it back, Bring it back, bring it back home There's a man with desert eyes He sees the trucks passing by In the blink of a camel's eye Into the black of an African sky You'd pay all the money in the world To keep your family safe from harm Little princes Coming back, coming back, coming back home Little princes Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back home It feels like you've been walking for a lifetime Feels like I just want to be still Feel my heart inside Warm like sunshine Gonna share The love that I feel Little princes Coming back, coming back, coming back home Little princes Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back home Little princes Coming back, coming back, coming back home Little princes Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back home

about

This is the first of a series of EPs I'll be releasing over the coming year, hence titled EP1. My move up north to Cheshire from London in 2015, gave me perspective musically and lyrically. 'Inequality Blues' was inspired by political events in the uk, the financial crash, Brexit and in particular the tragedy of the grenfell tower fire in London. 'Over the Banks', 'Rambling Rose' and 'Spinning Gold' have come about being in my new countryside surroundings. 'Rambling Rose' was also inspired by Robert Macfarlane's book 'Underland'. I often dedicate this to the adventurous spirit in all of us. My Dad gave me the name for the last track 'Spinning Gold', an instrumental written in the Autumn last year. Track 4, 'Little princes' was written because of a growing awareness in me and probably numerous others to the plight of refugees around the world. I want to encourage us to open our hearts more by empathising with them. After reading Patrick Kingsley's book 'The New Odyssey' you realise the incredible journeys these people have made to bring themselves and their family to a safe place. Thank you for listening, I hope you enjoy this EP,
Cheers Jude
